Have survived prostate cancer (2006) and esophogeal cancer (2008) with not too many bad side effects. Do not understand why I'm still around, but get to do some traveling, and enjoying my 6 kids, 14 grandkids, and 4 great-grandkids. Get no respect but lots of love from all of them. I am blessed. Would love to hear from any of class of '52, '53, or '54.

Madeline and I have retired to Florida. No more farms and no more cattle. We sold our last farms in Tenn. in 1994. I live on a golf course, but do not play. We sold our RV recently and are now hoping our 7 kids and 13 grandkids will visit US instead of the other way around.

Good news: I've been elected Senate Appropriations Chairman. Bad news: There's no money! Advice: Buy low, sell high... and don't give a victory speech until all the votes are counted!

I will finally retire in June after 39 years on the accounting faculty at Penn State. Honored to have been selected as the Accounting Alumnus of 2002, and pleased to have been part of a great team of Penn Staters who have continued to build a great institution. I look forward to spending winters in Acapulco.

After two periods of remission of about 8 months each, my wife,Pat, had a relapse of the leukemia in April 2004. She underwent chemo, and contracted pneumonia and a couple of bacterial infections, and this time herr body just could not fight it off. She died very peacefully, and without pain on May 15. Have had tremendous support from family and many friends, but will miss her terribly (after 49.5 years of marriage). Will be burying her ashes in St. Augustine, Pa. (near Patton) on Saaturday, July 17th at about 2 P.M.

For those of you more mature like myself and in the grandparent category - how to grow grandchildren fast. Our daughter had twin boys in September 2003, and my second son and his wife adopted sisters, Ashley (7) and Michelle (8), in February 2004. Talk about a growing throng.

My wife, Judy, and I really love living in the wine country/Willamette Valley of Western Oregon. Come see us some time. I keep in regular contact with Jack Gilleland 56. He and his wife, Fran, live in the Portland area. I also keep in regular contact with Ed Baranski 55 and his wife Georgine. We are going on a Penn State sponsored tour with them in March. I hope to get back to Penn State this fall for the Purdue game.
