As it always seems to do, this year has flown by. Before we know it, the holidays will be over and 2016 will be staring us in the face. So, while you’re stuffing your face, opening presents, catching up with relatives, and drinking a glass of wine, think about what kind of goals you want to set for yourself for the new year. But don’t stop there! The New Year is the perfect time to make changes in every aspect of your life, including Phi Sigma Kappa.
Kappa Chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa has been firmly committed to supporting the efforts of THON. Last year we raised over $51,000 for the Four Diamonds Fund though our canning weekends, THONvelopes, and other fundraising opportunities. We are proud to have recently formed a new partnership with Sorority Phi Sigma Rho. With this new pairing came another wonderful addition, our THON Family, the Beechers. Charlie Beecher, who recently celebrated his 7th birthday, was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma when he was sixteen months old. After 42 weeks of chemotherapy Charlie completed his treatment in 2010 and all post-treatment scans have been cancer free. The Beecher family, as well as the entire THON community, continues to inspire us every day to dedicate our time and effort for a cause that we feel passionately about.

Your Penn State Nittany Lions, with a record of 7-5 on the season, will face the Georgia Bulldogs (9-3), January 2, 2016 in the Taxslayer Bowl, formerly known as the Gator Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, with ESPN airing the gridiron matchup.
As with every event, as Nittany Nation spans the country, we invite all of our brothers to gather at the game and cheer on the Lions, as they attempt to end the 2015-2016 campaign with a win.
