Founders Day for 2022 was celebrated on March 19, 2022.  A light buffet lunch was served, and the house was filled with Actives and Alumni for an event that was also presented virtually via Zoom and Facebook.

The primary event was the presentation of the 2022 Alumni Scholarship Awards.  Individual awards were given for each of the Cardinal Principles.  In addition, the Actives elected their Man of the Year.

This year, the awards were presented in honor and memory of Brother Dan T. Stearns (Kappa, 1973), a long-time alumni Board member and former Chapter Adviser.  In attendance was Dan’s wife, Melinda Sterns, a former Little Sister, her son, Evan, and attending virtually was her brother Brett Morgan (Kappa ’80).  Alumni Board Scholarship Awards Committee Chair, Steve Handwerk, and Melinda presented the awards.  Here are the awardees:

Brotherhood Award: Regis J. Capoferri, Senior, Volant, PA.  Regis served in many house positions, including President during the height of COVID.

Scholarship Award:  Nico F. Mattacola, Sophomore, Rome, NY.

Character Award:  Ryan T. McQuillan, Senior, Long Island, NY.  Ryan is the current President and a former THON chair.

Man of the Year:  Blake Martin (not pictured), Senior, Gettysburg, PA.  Blake is a former President and a current IFC Vice President.

Congratulations to all four brothers!

In addition to the awards, there was a virtual tour of the house and an interview of the new Chapter Adviser, Mark Robinson (Kappa '85), which was conducted by Regis Capoferri.  We ended with a Q&A with the Actives and Alumni.

The Alumni Board would like to thank the alumni who were able to attend, and to extend a special thanks to Parker Eldridge (Kappa '58), who participated virtually.

After the call, the alumni at the house, with the help of several Actives, including Ryan McQuillan and Blake Martin, conducted a walk through the entire house for the purposes of identifying potential capital improvement projects.  Stay tuned for further information.
