We recently caught up with our very own John Lloyd ’62  and had the chance to ask him about his Phi Sig experience, and where life since Penn State has taken him. Here's what he had to say: 

After graduating in 1962 I went to work with the State of PA Bureau of Employment Security in Erie as a field auditor. After a year, a fellow employee took me aside and said "You are working too hard and making the rest of us look bad," I really wanted to get my CPA and nothing was available in Erie and a good friend Frank Bevevino (a fellow Penn Stater) told me he was leaving his job at a national firm, Seidman and Seidman, in Jamestown NY. I applied and was hired in September 1964 as a junior accountant. I passed the CPA exam in 1968 and became a Partner in 1974 (the youngest in the firm) and was named Partner In Charge in 1978. Seidman now was an international firm and had grown to about 10th largest in the world. In 1989 I was told that the Jamestown office did not fit into the picture as a separate office and would be merged into the newly formed Buffalo, NY office. I didn't care for this idea and said "Why don't we buy the Jamestown practice?" We did so and formed Lloyd and Co, CPA. PC went on another 20 years and in 2009 sold out to a regional firm BWB,CPA. I worked there as a Director and retired in 2016. I was lucky enough to find the love of my life Jean in 1959, married in Eisenhauer Chapel in 1962 (with the help of my Brothers in Kappa but that's another story).
