Include Phi Sig in your Homecoming Schedule!
Homecoming 2019 is fast approaching! While you are making your weekend plans, don’t forget to make time to put some fun Phi Sig activities on your agenda. Here’s what we are planning:
• Phi Sig once! Alumni Board Tailgate: game day from 9 am until 5:30 pm (except during the game, of course) in the lot just south of Beaver Stadium, parking spaces 858 and 859. The Hyland/Jarmul/Kern/Whipkey group (not a law firm!) has always put up a great spread so you’ll want to stop by to reconnect with other brothers before and/or after the game! We know that there a lot of class-centric tailgates we all go to but stopping by on your way into or out of Beaver Stadium might help you rekindle old friendships and share stories. Look for the Triple T’s flag flying proudly!
• Phi Sig twice! Happy Hour and Dinner at 501 S. Allen Street – starting at 5:30, the Alumni Board is sponsoring a post-game event to allow you to meet the current actives, and enjoy a tended bar and catered dinner. You’ll want to see the result of the hard work that 3 dozen actives and alums put into the Kappa chapter house this summer during our annual Work Weekend. This will give you yet another chance to meet up with brothers you know and expand the circle with brothers past and present you have yet to meet. The first floor was really cleaned up and looks great, and we are introducing the Chapter History Room (name?) so you’ll want to see what that’s all about. It might even spark something that you have that you’d like to contribute to this living archive of Phi Sig at Penn State.
Make plans to reminisce with as many Phi Sigs as you can while you are at Homecoming 2019. It can’t really be “home-coming” unless you find your way back to your Penn State home at Phi Sig!
