Football season is approaching and it’s time to look at – and discuss – where Penn State fits in the Big Ten picture.

How it all shakes out, nobody knows. But one thing is for certain, every Big Ten team will be gunning for Ohio State. The Nittany Lions have a tremendous shot to head into Columbus with some serious momentum. Excluding the season opener at Temple, Penn State will play five straight home games against Buffalo, Rutgers, San Diego State, Army and Indiana. Those teams combined for a 28-33 record last season. They are all beatable for a young Penn State team that has much more depth this time around.

So where should the Nittany Lions slot in?

Happy Valley.com has Penn State toward the top half of the conference echelon.

ESPN.com is also relatively high on a team that finished just 6-6 in the regular season last year.
