Join us for our 5th annual golf tournament on May 29-31, which is dedicated to Kappa Brother Jeff Peffer, aka “Wally Peefers,” who passed away last Fall.  Wally pledged in 1975 and graduated in 1978.  He is remembered by his friends for his great attitude, sense of humor and his Army helmet.  The helmet was a fixture for all of his meetings as Inductor for the Spring 1977 pledge class, which included David Hyland ’80, Jim Whipkey ’80, Jim Mitchell ’80, Keith Whitman ’80 and Marty Perl ’81, and several others. Jeff was a great character, brother, husband, father, friend, and coach. He spent his entire professional career employed at the Providence Journal (Rhode Island). He is survived by his wife, Susan (Harvey) Peffer, and children, Andrew and Kristen.

Each year, our golf outing grows in numbers. It's time to talk it up with your Kappa friends and other golfing buddies.  Everyone is welcome. Don't golf? Come anyway! The cooks will be setting things up earlier in the day and preparing for the reception and steak cookout after the golfers finish. The usual valuable awards will be presented following dinner.

A special well-known Phi Sig alum has been invited to attend our festivities.

Information regarding registration for golf on Friday and Saturday, as well as dinner on Saturday can be found on our website.   We hope to see many of you there to rekindle friendships and hopefully make new ones.

Part of your registration fee will be donated to the Kappa Chapter Scholarship Fund, which was formed this past year.

We are also planning to sell special Phi Sig logo golf balls as a fundraiser to grow the scholarship fund. Buy them at the golf outing and dinner, or contact Fred DeCock ’80 at This email address is being protected from spambots.
