On Saturday, March 29, approximately 30 Kappa Chapter actives, alums, family members and friends met at Penn State’s new Pegula Ice Arena to kickoff the weekend’s Founders’ Day celebration. The exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the new facility moved from the lower level locker rooms, weight-training facility and media room all the way to the top-level private suites, including just about everything in between.

Alumni and actives caught a few minutes of a State College Youth Ice Hockey tournament at Pegula.

During the tour and throughout the weekend, many of the participants wore special Founders’ Day T-shirts designed and produced by one of our actives, Brother Tyler Cromleigh. Thanks, Tyler, for some great-looking shirts!

Alumni sported Founders’ Day t-shirts (designed by Tyler Cromleigh) throughout the weekend.

Following the Pegula visit and a mid-afternoon bar tour, more than 70 Phi Sigs and guests celebrated at the House, enjoying a Founders’ Day Feast prepared by House Cook Jen Pressler and featuring cheesesteaks grilled by Brother Mark Dobil and his dad.

Highlights of the evening included the presentation of the Men of the Year Awards to active Andrew Dreibelbis ’14 and alumnus Robert “Doc” Landis ’63. Congratulations to these two brothers for their standout performance and commitment to our brotherhood.

Thank you to all who made it a very successful and memorable Founders’ Day Weekend. Our additional thanks go to Brother Fred DeCock ’76 for serving as weekend photographer.
