- 60 percent of Thon proceeds come from canister solicitations.
- 78 dancers participated in the first Thon in 1973. They raised $2,000.
- 87 percent of Four Diamonds Fund income comes from Thon.
- 90 new families receive support from the Four Diamonds Fund each year.
- 140 Four Diamonds Fund families attended Thon this year.
- 500 families are typically supported by the Four Diamonds Fund at one time.
- 704 dancers were on their feet for 48 hours last weekend.
- 1,271 dancers, volunteers and attendees at Thon in 2003 broke the record for the world's largest hug.
- 1977 was the year U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., then a Penn State student majoring in political science, danced in Thon.
- 2,000 families have been helped by the Four Diamonds Fund since it started in 1972.
- 2,000 student volunteers will help with Thon.
- 30,000 people are expected to visit Rec Hall this weekend.
- Thon raised $4,122,483.65 in 2005.
- $10,000,000 has been pledged by Thon over the next six years to support a new Penn State Children's Hospital cancer pavilion.
