Penn State and Tennessee will clash in the Outback Bowl on January 1 in the third post-season meeting between the national powers. The No. 17 Volunteers (9-3) were selected to face the Nittany Lions (8-4) in the 21st Outback Bowl. The contest will kick off at 11 a.m. ET, and will air on ESPN, the Penn State Sports Network and GoPSUsports.com, the official website of Penn State Athletics.

"Tennessee is a great opponent for us," stated Joe Paterno. "They have a great football tradition and a very good team again this year. They played well in a tough league. It's going to be a challenging game for us."
