THON 2009 raised a record breaking $7,490,133.87 surpassing everyone's expectations. After the 17 members of the dance marathon overall committee slowly raised the final number 7 of the total, the crowd erupted into roar that echoed throughout the packed Bryce Jordan Center.

The undergraduates supported Phi Sigma Kappa dancers with piggy back rides, games and inspirational messages throughout the weekend. The energy in the Bryce Jordan Center kept dancers awake and on their feet for 46 hours. Stay tuned to hear their total!

All proceeds of the Penn State Dance Marathon benefit the Four Diamonds Fund at the Hershey Medical Center. The fund provided emotional and financial support to families whose children are affected with cancer. In 33 years, the Dance Marathon has raised $59 million dollars for kids with cancer. Thank you to all alumni for their continued support with this cause. For more information about the weekend and about the Dance Marathon visit their website, www.thon.org.
