The Founders' Day 2010 celebration at Kappa Chapter ushered in the beginning of another new tradition. The "Man Of The Year" award is given to an outstanding Active brother and to an Alumnus who have shown commitment to the ideals of Phi Sigma Kappa through their actions embodying brotherhood, scholarship and character.

Alumni candidates are nominated by other alums, and then selected by the Board based on the entry submission. Actives select their candidate, and both are presented a personal plaque memorializing their award. A plaque will also be placed in the Kappa house foyer as an ongoing tribute to award winners.

This year's winners were David Hyland for the Alumnus award and Neel Shah as an Active brother. David was recognized for his house renovation project management efforts. He was quick to point out that there were many alums who should share in the award since it was a true team effort bringing Kappa house back to life. Neel Shah has shown leadership in all areas of Active brotherhood and was grateful to all his brothers for helping him.

Start thinking about who you will nominate for next year's award now. And make plans to attend Founders' Day for the presentation and celebration!
