Landscape enhancements were completed in early summer as part of continuing efforts to improve the functionality and appearance of the house and property. A menacing collection of weeds in the front beds was eradicated, with periodic spot spraying conducted throughout the summer. In addition, new holly and yew shrubs were planted to fill in gaps in the existing planting. The finishing touch of edging and mulching brought a clean, professional look to the property. The Actives have shown an interest in improving the overall level of landscape maintenance, and the new work commissioned by the alumni board will make their job easier and will hopefully encourage them to do more.
